Ingredients
To make this delicious Cheeseburger Quesadilla, you’ll need the following ingredients:
Beef
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Burger Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons grated onion
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon pickle relish
- 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Quesadilla
- 4 burrito-sized flour tortillas
- 16 slices of thinly sliced cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup pickles, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Burger Sauce
In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, grated onion, ketchup, pickle relish, yellow mustard, white vinegar, and paprika. Whisk until smooth and well combined. Cover the bowl and store it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to assemble the quesadillas.
Step 2: Cook the Ground Beef
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up into small crumbles with a spatula. Once the beef is fully cooked, drain any excess grease. Season the beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the spices are evenly distributed. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 3: Assemble the Quesadillas
Lay out the flour tortillas on a clean surface. On half of each tortilla, place 2 slices of cheddar cheese. Evenly distribute the seasoned ground beef mixture on top of the cheese. Add a layer of chopped onions and sliced pickles, then top with 2 more slices of cheddar cheese. Fold the tortillas in half to close.
Step 4: Cook the Quesadillas
Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, place the assembled quesadillas in the skillet. Cook each side for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted. Remove from the skillet and let cool slightly before slicing into triangles.
Step 5: Serve
Serve the Cheeseburger Quesadillas warm with a generous side of the prepared burger sauce for dipping. Enjoy!
Notes
- Not Draining the Beef: Failing to drain the cooked beef can result in soggy quesadillas. Make sure to remove excess grease for the best texture.
- Overcrowding the Skillet: Cook the quesadillas in batches if necessary to ensure even cooking and browning.
- Cooking on High Heat: Medium-high heat is ideal for achieving a crispy exterior without burning the tortillas before the cheese melts.
